Can it book appointments into my calendar (MapleCalendar, Google, or Outlook)?
Yes. MapleReceptionist integrates natively with MapleCalendar and supports Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook over standard CalDAV and OAuth. Callers can hold the line while it checks live availability, confirms a slot, and reads back the booking. The event lands in your calendar with the caller name, phone number, and a transcript of the booking conversation.
Does it support bilingual EN/FR calls?
Yes. The AI detects the caller language within the first few syllables and continues the entire call in that language. You can also configure a bilingual greeting (Bonjour, hello) and a per-region preference (for example, default to French for the 506 area code in southeastern New Brunswick).
What happens if the AI cannot answer -- does it escalate to a human?
Yes. You can configure intelligent escalation rules: warm-transfer to your cellphone, your team via MapleDesk, or a designated voicemail box. For after-hours calls flagged as urgent (keywords like emergency, broken, leaking) it can page you via SMS plus email immediately. The caller never gets stuck in a loop.
Does it handle SMS as well as voice?
Yes. The same agent that answers your phone also handles inbound SMS, with shared memory across channels. If a caller hangs up mid-conversation and texts you back, MapleReceptionist picks up the thread. Outbound SMS confirmations for appointments are included on all plans.

Yes. Calls, transcripts, and recordings are stored on Canadian-hosted infrastructure, never replicated to U.S. servers, and access is tenant-scoped. The default greeting includes a PIPEDA-compatible recording notice (This call may be recorded for quality and accuracy) which you can customize. Retention is configurable from 30 days to 7 years.
