MapleTask board reuse Shipped
Every MapleProjects project is a MapleTask workspace under the hood — lists, cards, comments, watchers, heartbeats. Your team keeps the kanban they already know; you get the project layer on top.
MapleProjects is project management where logged hours actually become an invoice. Same Canadian tenant as your MapleTask board, your MapleTime sheets, and your MapleInvoice line items — no Zapier, no Toggl-to-QuickBooks duct tape, no Sunday-night status doc in Google Docs.
Plan the work in MapleTask, track the hours in MapleTime, send the invoice in MapleInvoice — on the same tenant, same login, same Canadian database. Roadmap items are flagged honestly so you know what's shipped today vs. on the way.
Every MapleProjects project is a MapleTask workspace under the hood — lists, cards, comments, watchers, heartbeats. Your team keeps the kanban they already know; you get the project layer on top.
Log hours against a MapleTask card in MapleTime, mark them billable, push to MapleInvoice. Line items arrive grouped by project, ready to send. No Zapier, no nightly CSV, no copy-paste — this is the moat.
Drag task bars across day / week / month zoom. Today line, scroll-sync, drag-to-resize. Currently rendering against the schema in the dev build; targeted for Q3 2026 general availability.
Finish-to-start by default, with start-to-start, finish-to-finish, start-to-finish links and lead/lag offsets. Critical path highlights live. Schema (mtask_task_dependencies) is in place; UI wiring is the next sprint.
Auto-drafted Monday-morning project status pulling from closed tasks, blocked items, hours logged, and upcoming milestones. You review, edit, and approve before it sends. Available in private beta to Business+ subscribers Q3 2026.
Projects, comments, time logs, AI drafts — all hosted in Canada (Toronto + Montreal). PIPEDA-aligned for consultancies, agencies, and government-adjacent firms that can't ship client data south of the border.
Project delivery for Canadian small teams — where the project plan and the invoice actually agree on the hours.
The three products you've probably already evaluated. Here's where Canadian residency, CAD pricing, and a real time-to-invoice loop actually matter — and where the others have a head start.

A project plan only matters if the hours get billed. MapleProjects, MapleTask, MapleTime, and MapleInvoice share one tenant and one auth — no Zapier, no webhooks to babysit, no nightly Make.com flow you forgot you set up.
Every project is a MapleTask workspace. Boards, lists, cards, watchers, heartbeats, agent-assigned tasks — the same task universe your team already lives in. MapleProjects adds the project layer (timeline, milestones, billing rate) on top.
Log hours against any MapleTask card. Mark them billable, set a per-project or per-person rate. Hours flow into the project's billable bucket the same minute, ready for invoicing — no end-of-month reconciliation.
From the project, hit "Bill this period" — MapleInvoice opens pre-filled with line items grouped by project or by task, hourly rate applied, HST per province applied. Edit, send, get paid. One tool, one currency, one tax ledger.
Public REST endpoints for projects, tasks, time entries, and milestones, plus webhook events for status changes. Pair with MapleWorkflow to wire MapleProjects into MapleContacts, MapleDesk tickets, or external tools. Targeted Q4 2026.
All prices in Canadian dollars, billed via Stripe Canada, no FX surprises. Cancel any time — you keep the export button.

MapleProjects is a Canadian-hosted project management product for SMBs, agencies, and consultancies that bill by the hour. It sits on top of MapleTask (kanban boards), MapleTime (billable hour tracking), and MapleInvoice (CAD invoicing with provincial HST/GST/QST) so that a project plan, the hours worked, and the invoice you send are the same Canadian database — not three apps stitched together by Zapier.
Asana is broader and more mature on workflow features — Asana Timeline, Smart Status, Goals — and it has a much bigger third-party integration catalog. MapleProjects beats Asana on three specific axes: Canadian data residency (Toronto + Montreal vs Asana's US-only), CAD-native pricing instead of USD-converted seats, and a native time-tracking-to-invoice loop that Asana only delivers via Harvest or Toggl plus Zapier plus QuickBooks. Asana's Gantt timeline ships today on Premium; MapleProjects' Gantt is on the Q3 2026 roadmap. If you bill clients by the hour in Canada, MapleProjects wins on workflow; if you're a 500-person org doing OKR rollups, Asana is the safer pick.
Linear is the gold standard for software engineering teams — fast keyboard-first issue tracker, Cycles instead of sprints, opinionated UX. It does not try to be a Gantt tool, does not have native time tracking for billable hours, and does not invoice clients. MapleProjects is the opposite shape: it's built for agencies and consultancies who bill external clients by the hour, where the deliverable is an invoice plus a status report, not shipped software. If your team writes code for paying clients, MapleProjects + Linear is a valid combo. If your team writes code for an internal product, Linear alone is enough.
Jira is the heavyweight for software engineering at scale — sprints, story points, Advanced Roadmaps, deep workflow customization, Tempo for time tracking, Atlassian Marketplace. MapleProjects is intentionally lighter and is not an issue tracker; we don't do sprints, story points, or burndown charts. Where MapleProjects beats Jira is for non-software project work — agencies, consulting, marketing services, professional services — where the project deliverable is an invoice and the time tracker has to talk to the invoicing system without a Tempo seat fee and without Atlassian's US/EU data residency. If you're a software team, stay on Jira. If you bill hours to external clients in CAD, MapleProjects is the simpler stack.
Not today. MapleProjects ships as a multi-tenant Canadian-hosted SaaS in Toronto and Montreal data centres. We are PIPEDA-aligned for the SMB and consultancy customer that just wants the data inside Canada — that covers most of the regulated-industry asks we hear. If you have a federal or provincial procurement requirement for on-premise install, email support@mapleworksuite.com and we'll be honest with you about whether a single-tenant deployment makes sense before you sign anything.
Four plans, all billed in Canadian dollars via Stripe Canada with HST/GST/QST applied per province. Free is $0/mo (one project, three collaborators, kanban + list views). Pro is $19/mo (ten projects, ten collaborators, MapleTime billable sync, Gantt beta). Business is $49/mo and is the most popular (unlimited projects, twenty-five collaborators, MapleInvoice timesheet billing). Enterprise is $99/mo (unlimited workspaces, SSO, audit logs, 99.9% SLA). Annual plans save roughly 17%. No per-seat fees on any tier — flat plan pricing only.
Yes. All MapleProjects data — projects, tasks, comments, time logs, AI drafts, exported files — is stored on Canadian-hosted infrastructure in Toronto and Montreal. We do not replicate project data outside Canada under any circumstance, which aligns with PIPEDA for SMBs, agencies, and consultancies handling client data. The Enterprise plan adds PIPEDA-grade audit logs and a 7-year retention policy for regulated-industry customers. Our standard data processing addendum is available on request from support@mapleworksuite.com.
Yes — and on every tier, including Free. Hit Export on any project and you get a JSON dump of projects, tasks, comments, time entries, and milestones, plus a CSV of time entries for accounting. There is no paid-tier gate on export, no thirty-day window, and no "contact sales to extract your data" tax. Cancel at end of month, keep the export forever. If you cancel and come back later, your imported data still maps cleanly to the same schema — we don't punish customers for trying competitors.
Start free, plug the team's hours into the same database as their invoices, and watch the duct tape unstick itself.
