Canada's community AI network. Share your idle GPU. Earn credits, or get paid.
MapleGrid links idle graphics cards across Canada into one AI network. Gamers' GPUs serve it by day while you're at work or school; office GPUs serve it by night. Anyone in Canada can chat on it, and your private details never leave your device.
How it works
Three steps. Your own work always comes first.
- 1
Install the node
A small free program for macOS and Linux (Windows is next). It runs open AI models on your own computer with Ollama, a free model runner.
- 2
Choose what and when
A private page on your own computer lets you pick which models to share and the hours to share them (for example 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.). You can pause any time.
- 3
Earn while it's idle
Your computer answers chat requests from other Canadians and earns for every job it finishes. The page shows jobs served and what you've earned.
Two ways to earn
Pick one per account and switch whenever you like.
Credits
- Earn credits for every job your computer finishes.
- Spend them on AI chat on the network.
- Credits are for AI only. They can't be sold, transferred or cashed out.
Paid mode
- MapleWorkSuite pays you a service fee for the compute your computer supplies, at a published rate.
- Open to any Canadian 18+, as an individual or a business. No business registration needed.
- You never write an invoice. You get a monthly statement to accept with one click.
- Paid by e-Transfer or direct deposit to a Canadian bank account once you have at least $100 released.
- Earnings are held 14 days before release, to protect everyone from fraud.
- It's income: we issue a T4A when the year's total requires one. Businesses registered for HST add HST to their statement.
Will your computer earn anything?
An honest estimate for 30 days, after your electricity bill. Try your own computer, province and hours.
Filled in with the approximate rate for your province. Check your bill and change it if yours is different.
These are estimates, not a promise of earnings. Paid mode hasn't opened, and its rate hasn't been set. The payout above is an example you can change. What you actually earn depends on how many jobs the network sends you, which is low during the beta. Speeds assume a mid-sized open model; electricity rates are approximate 2025 residential rates. Earnings are income for tax purposes. In credits mode you earn credits instead of money, and the electricity cost is the same.
Private by design
Built so that no computer on the network, including ours, sees who you are or keeps what you said.
Scrambled on your device
Names, emails, postal codes, SIN-shaped numbers and the last four digits of phone numbers become placeholders before anything leaves your computer. Only your device knows what they stand for. Amounts stay as they are, so the math still works.
No one knows who asked
Each request gets a random reference number and goes to a different computer, so no node can piece together who you are.
Nothing kept
The network doesn't store what you asked or what the model answered. Nodes keep only job reference numbers.
Safe to run
Nodes open no ports and do text in, text out only. No tools, no commands, no access to your files.
Run a business? Meet MapleClaw.
MapleClaw is an AI assistant for business owners, connected to MapleWorkSuite. It runs on your own computer and serves you first. When you're not using it, the same computer can share on MapleGrid and earn credits toward your AI use.
